Iconic GRAMMY® Award-winning multiplatinum-selling R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Anthony Hamilton hosted a screening of ‘Green Book’ this week in support of the film’s Thanksgiving release.
Produced by Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer and featuring Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali, Green Book highlights the journey of a world-class African-American pianist, Dr. Don Shirley. Embarking on a concerttour in the Deep South in 1962, Dr. Shirley needs a driver and protection. He recruits Tony Lip, a tough-talking bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx. Despite their differences, the two men soon develop an unexpected bond while confronting racism and danger in an era of intense segregation.
The movie comes at a perfect time for Hamilton who is promoting his new single “Love Conquers All.” Similar to the movie, the single tackles tough, uncomfortable subjects like racism, gun control, criminal justice reform, and prioritizing education.
In support of the film, Hamilton hosted the screening in his hometown of Charlotte, NC.
‘Green Book’ is set to release tonight, November 21st, just in time for Thanksgiving.
