Meanwhile, on Apple Music, Grande broke several records. “thank u, next” now holds the global record for “#1 Most-Streamed Pop Song First-Week on Apple Music.” The pop star also represented for the ladies by being the “only female artist to chart in the Top 5 songs first-week of release on Apple Music.”
Over on Spotify, Grande’s new song captured both “the U.S. and Global One-Day streaming records for a female artist,” generating more than 9 million plays worldwide and 4 million in the U.S. on the platform. And don’t forget “thank u, next” also took the number one spot on iTunes, Amazon Music, and Tidal.
Across the pond. Yeah, Grande is doing her thing over there too. The former Nickelodeon star also debuted at #1 on the Official UK Singles chart, becoming the highest selling #1 debut of the year in the UK.
