Cumulus Detroit Radio Stations and the U.S. Marine Corps Kick Off 2021 Toys For Tots Toy Drive


CUMULUS MEDIA announces that its three Detroit radio stations, 96.3 WDVD, New Country 93.1 (WDRQ), 760 WJR, together with the U.S. Marine Corps, have launched their annual toy drive benefiting Toys For Tots of Southeastern Michigan. 96.3 WDVD’s The Blaine Fowler Morning Show kicked off this year’s campaign to help area children have a brighter holiday season with a live remote broadcast on Monday, November 1st at Gordon Chevrolet, 31850 Ford Road, Garden City, MI, where generous donors may drop off new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages now through Thanksgiving.

The 2021 Toys For Tots Toy Drive will continue to collect toy donations on Saturday, November 27th and Sunday, November 28th from 9am to 6pm, at Oakland Mall, 412 West 14 Mile Road, Troy, MI, and also at Novi Town Center, 43259 Crescent Boulevard, Novi, MI. On Saturday, December 4th and Sunday, December 5th, the 2021 Toys For Tots Drive will collect toy donations from 9am to 6pm at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, 4000 Baldwin Road, Auburn Hills, MI; and at The Home Depot, 23300 West Allen Road, Woodhaven, MI.

BandLab Announces Acquisition of ReverbNation


BandLab today announced the acquisition of ReverbNation from its parent company, eMinor, Inc. The deal is effective immediately.


The acquisition will help accelerate BandLab’s artist services, building on recently announced features like artist-to-fan subscriptions and BandLab Distribution. ReverbNation artists will continue to enjoy uninterrupted services and can expect a seamless integration of ReverbNation’s features into BandLab’s creator capabilities in the near future. 


Post acquisition, eMinor will focus on its other software businesses, including its rapidly growing youth sports platform PlayMetrics.

iHeartMedia Denver’s HITS 95.7 Announces JR as new Afternoon Drive Host


 HITS 95.7, Commercial Free Weekends, announced today that JR will be the stations new Afternoon Drive Host, effective November 8. JR will broadcast weekdays from 3-7 p.m. 

As afternoon drive host, JR will broadcast all of the latest hits from top artists including Arianna Grande, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone and more. In addition, listeners will have an opportunity to participate in fun on-air games and have the chance to win cool prizes.

 iHeartMedia San Diego announced today that it has renewed its agreement with “The Show” for Rock 105.3 (KIOZ-FM), San Diego’s Rock Station. “The Show” will continue to broadcast weekdays from 6 – 10 a.m. for another five years.

Pandora Launches Half Time Radio Station After Overwhelming Fan Response to Big Game Half Time Performers Announcement

Rock Station 105.1 The X Hires New Host


CUMULUS MEDIA announces that it has appointed Jaye Powers as On-Air Host, Afternoon Drive, for Kansas City Rock radio station 105.1 The X, KCJK-FM. Powers can be heard on 105.1 The X weekday afternoons from 3:00pm-7:00pm. Previously hosting Afternoon Drive, Cassiday Proctor transfers to Cumulus Buffalo-Erie. 

Powers joined Cumulus Kansas City in 2020. In addition to weekend host duties on 105.1 The X, he served as in-studio producer of sister-station 94.9 KCMO-FM’s top-ranked “Kelly and Mackenzie” morning show. Powers remains part of the sideline production team for Kansas City Chiefs home games.

Ingrooves Music Group Signs Ziggy Alberts’ Commonfolk Records to a Global Distribution Deal


 Ingrooves Music Group, a world leader in music distribution, marketing and technology, announced today that they have signed Commonfolk Records, the label founded and led by singer-songwriter Ziggy Alberts, to a global distribution deal. The special four-episode podcast series will celebrate Black culture and the passionate alumni community of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

The discussion will include an array of topics, such as why it is vital to ensure that inclusivity and representation are displayed in all forms of media and the importance of having a strong Black lead. Listeners will hear insightful discussions on the topic from cultural game-changers including actor, comedian, television personality and Howard University alumni Nick Cannon (The Masked SingerThe Nick Cannon ShowWild N’ Out); and rapper, songwriter, record executive and Albany State University alumni Rick Ross. 

Black Girl Magic – (December 15) Moderated by on-air personality Angela Yee of the nationally syndicated morning show, “The Breakfast Club,” this special episode will be recorded as a virtual panel celebrating the beauty, power and resilience of Black women and honoring their many achievements.

Fans can learn the pathway for young aspiring women of color to attend HBCUs and why Black women must lead the charge in politics, culture and society. CUMULUS MEDIA announces that it has signed a new long-term agreement with Country Radio Hall of Famer Mark “Hawkeye” Louis, longtime Morning Personality on Dallas radio station New Country 96.3/KSCS-FM.

Louis hosts the ever-popular morning show, Hawkeye in the Morning, along with 10-year station veteran Michelle Rodriguez. DFW’s longest-running morning show on the FM dial, Hawkeye in the Morning airs on New Country 96.3 weekdays from 5:30am-10:00am.

Louis has been heard on the station since 1988. He is a member of the Country Radio Hall of Fame and the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. He was honored by the Academy of Country Music as On-Air Personality of the Year and the show was recently nominated for the 2021 Marconi Awards Major Market Personality of the Year.

Louis is an active supporter of the DFW community through his work for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Cook Children’s, and Cook Children’s summer camp for kids living with cancer, Camp Sanguinity. He is also Chairman of the non-profit BMW Dallas Marathon.

iHeartMedia and DraftKings Ink Multifaceted Strategic Agreement


iHeartMedia, Inc. [Nasdaq: IHRT] and DraftKings Inc. [Nasdaq: DKNG] announced today a multi-year strategic relationship, making DraftKings the official odds supplier for iHeartMedia’s broadcast, digital, podcast and social platforms. Additionally, as part of the agreement DraftKings is now able to co-create and distribute long-form content with iHeartMedia and will receive preferred access to iHeartMedia’s full roster of diverse personalities.
