Brooke Eplee Named ASCAP SVP Strategy and Business Development

Eplee will work cross-functionally on growth and competitive strategy at ASCAP, including new business development, strategic partnerships and innovation initiatives. Reporting to ASCAP Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy & Digital Officer Nicholas Lehman, she will help to advance ASCAP’s modernization agenda, exploring new revenue sources, operational enhancement opportunities and other key business objectives.

“PROs are fundamental to solving some of the most challenging scale and data issues facing the music industry, and ASCAP is pushing the performing rights sector forward in so many ways,” said Eplee. “I am excited to serve our member needs and help advance the music industry toward its next chapter.”

“Brooke has a track record of driving positive strategic changes from within major music and media companies,” said Lehman. “Her expertise and passion for uncovering new growth opportunities in existing businesses and for developing impactful cross-industry strategic alliances will be valuable assets to ASCAP’s team and the overall sector.”

Eplee has more than 15 years’ experience with business development and strategy in the music and digital media industries. Most recently, she was Vice President, Business Development at VEVO, where she drove a re-formulation of its business model, distribution and monetization strategy and built a team to support the execution of a new strategic plan. Prior to that, Eplee served as Senior Director of Global Business Development & Strategy at Sony Music Entertainment, overseeing partner relationships across Sony’s global digital business. She has also held positions at Nokia, Bain Capital Partners and Chatham Partners. Eplee has a B.A. from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
