Chance The Rapper, Janelle Monáe, Ms. Lauryn Hill, The Internet, Kamasi Washington, H.E.R And More Announced For North Sea Jazz Festival 2019
What do you get when you put Chance The Rapper, Lauryn Hill, Janelle Monáe together with contemporary jazz pioneer Kamasi Washington… you get the North Sea Jazz Festival, which has recently announced the first wave of artists confirmed to perform at this summer’s event, which will take place at the Ahoy Centre in Rotterdam, Netherlands from July 12-14th 2019.
According to organizers, it is the event is the world’s largest indoor music festival. It will offer an array of international stars, jazz icons and pioneering acts from across the worlds of jazz, soul, blues, hip-hop, R&B and more. In additional to the much-adored Chicago rapper Chance The Rapper, trailblazing hit-maker Janelle Monáe, Grammy-winning superstar Ms. Lauryn Hill and contemporary jazz pioneer Kamasi Washington, several other notable artists are scheduled to perform.
Also confirmed at the 44th edition of Rotterdam’s famous event are six-time Grammy award winner Burt Bacharach, iconic jazz stars Diana Krall and multi-million selling Jamie Cullum, the legendary rock/pop group Toto, unrivalled solo-voice master Bobby McFerrin and British soul powerhouse Rag’n’Bone Man, as well as a long list of upcoming genre-blurring acts and artists such as The Internet, H.E.R, Jacob Banks and Masego.
Since 1976, the festival has played host to the likes of jazz greats Miles Davis and Ray Charles all the way through to D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Jamiroquai and Earth, Wind and Fire.
