Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Craig Stickland, releases his new single “Break Every Rule” today. Accompanying the track, the man of all trades also shares a beautifully stripped down Van Session where you’ll find him crooning in the scenic Yosemite National Park. Craig’s mesmerizing vocal range and raw lyrics continue to impress and “Break Every Rule” is no exception. His voice reaches Cathedral heights and pulls at your heartstrings as he announces, “I’ll break every rule in the book for you baby.”

On his new single, Craig adds, “We all have our patterns and habits that shape us, but every once in a while someone comes along who makes you say ‘fuck it’. ‘Break Every Rule’ is a song written about that person; the one who makes you stay up all night even when you have to be up early, the one who convinces you that maybe ordering sushi in bed at 3am on a Tuesday is a good idea. ‘Break Every Rule’ is a song about that one person who makes you bend the rules a little, even until they break.”

“Break Every Rule” follows the heart wrenching “Stop At Nothing”, the guitar driven anthem “Burn It Down”, and the mesmerizing ballad “Rolling River”. It marks the fourth release off Craig’s upcoming album, Starlit Afternoon. Written throughout a whirlwind tour in a self-converted sustainable Sprinter Van, he co-produced the album, alongside Cat Lewis and Gray Hawken (Locals Only Sound), in Los Angeles during 2018. He Airbnb’ed his apartment, slept in his van outside the studio, and architected a 12-track opus, fusing blues, soul, rock, folk, gospel, and alternative.

The Van Session is one of 8 stripped-down, acoustic performances Craig shot to accompany most of the 12 track album Starlit Afternoon. They were shot and recorded at remote locations across California, including Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Alabama Hills, and Downtown Los Angeles. These performances were powered only by solar energy from the van and showcase the depth of Stickland's singer-songwriter sensibility and adventurous spirit.

In August, Craig kicks off a handful of dates supporting Tom Walker with stops in Boston at Brighton Music Hall on 8/3 and in NYC at Bowery Ballroom on 8/5. See dates below.
