D.L. Hughley Named Radio Facts “Radio Host of the Year”

New York, NY – (Dec. 7, 2018)  Radio Facts (www.radiofacts.com) announced today that and syndicated radio Host has been named the 2018 “Radio Host of the Year” in the 2nd annual Radio Facts “Power Play List” magazine

The annual magazine and honor recognize those who use their industry platform as a commitment to advancing, educating and advocating for diversity.

“Honorees like D.L. are setting the standard for the widening realm of platforms for urban broadcasting,” said Kevin Ross, CEO of The Radio Facts “Power Play List” Magazine. “His best selling book ‘How Not to Get Shot: And Other Advice From White People’ as well as his popular videos are a prime example of his commitment, compassion, and advocacy for the often disenfranchised. He is a voice for the voiceless.”

On winning the award Hughley states, “I think that if you at a certain point, have a microphone or a canvas or any apparatus, it expounds your perspective and you have an obligation to say what you see and that’s what I do now.” Hughley was interviewed for the magazine and the extended full podcast will be available on the Radio Facts site in January.

Since 2017, Power Play List Magazine has honored those who show a commitment to diversity in the expanding broadcast industry. The magazine also honors the Syndicated Show of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Broadcast Executive of the Year, Record Executive of the Year and many more. Last year’s Radio Host of the Year was from Power 105 in New York. The new magazine will hit the industry in mid-December.

D.L. Hughley is a popular national stand-up comedian and a national radio host for Radio One and Reach Media. Radio One is the largest broadcasting company serving the African American community. D.L. can currently be heard nationwide as the host of his own afternoon radio show “The DL Hughley Show” which is syndicated in over 60 markets across the country. D.L. is currently touring as part of the Comedy Get Down Tour, which features Cedric the Entertainer, George Lopez, and Eddie Griffin. The tour will be turned into a docu-reality series to air on BET and Comedy Central this fall.
