Jessie Buckley releases new song “Country Girl” from the film “Wild Rose”, out April 12th.

After delighting audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival, BAFTA Rising star nominee Jessie Buckley, one of the fastest rising actors in cinema, looks set to take the music world by storm as the star and voice of the gritty, inspirational and heart-warming film WILD ROSE. The first music to be released from the “Wild Rose” OST (April 12) is standout track “Country Girl” which is now available. The song was written by Primal Scream who released it as a single in 2006. Another standout track on the album is “Glasgow” which was co-written by Oscar winning actor Mary Steenburgen while Jessie and the film’s writer Bafta winner Nicole Taylor wrote six of the album’s songs together.
“Country Girl” soundtracks a key moment in the film and is performed by Buckley with enormous passion, sincerity and genuine vocal prowess. The writing and recording experience was completely new to Jessie who found the experience so rewarding that she has since performed the songs live and will be playing shows with full band following the release of the film. The Original Soundtrack will be released on Republic Records on April 12th, the same day the film hits the screens in the UK.
