I’m so excited to launch a new weekly show on SiriusXM Channel #359, .  I’ll be your host for .   We will gather every Sunday in the name of Americana Music, to both worship our founders, and preach about new artists that you need to know. Every Sunday, I’ll catch you up on new Americana releases from the founders of folk, introduce you to emerging roots artists, and feature exclusive studio interviews & performances. It’s a look at the week that was in Americana music, and Sunday IS the day of rest, so let me provide the soundtrack.

Grammy Nominations Are Out!

The 61st Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on February 10, 2019 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles recognizing the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year, ( October 1, 2017, to September 30, 2018).  You’ll notice a Grammys theme on this weekend’s show highlighting the best of the Americana, Folk & Blues categories. You can see the entire list of Grammy nominations here.

Congratulations to Brandie Carlile for her six nominations including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and best Americana Album.

Kacey Musgraves isn’t far behind with a total of four nominations including a nod for Album of the Year. Talk about women leading the way… We’ll go through the rest during this hour of fantastic music!

Jeff Tweedy is Back with “WARM”

While Jeff Tweedy wrote the Grammy-nominated Mavis Staples song ‘ Build a Bridge,’ featured in this weekend’s Sunday Service,  he also has his own new music.  The singer released his first solo album titled ‘WARM’ to go along with his newly released memoir Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back). The first single is ‘I Know What It’s Like.’

New Frontiers: Colter Wall

Recently, Saskatchewan’s Colter Wall dropped by ’s Hardcore Troubadour Radio Show on SiriusXM Outlaw to put ‘home’ on the map and discuss music from his 2018 release, Songs from the Plains.’ I’ll feature some music from the album and play you some of his chat with Steve Earle.

Rosanne Cash Talks Women in Music

This fall, Rosanne Cash put out It’s a very interesting time to be a woman in music…Rosanne Cash had higher hopes for progress when she first began her career.  She says she’s seeing a reversal of progress when it comes to women in music.
