Oana Ruxandra Rejoins WMG Focused On Mergers & Acquisitions


is rejoining in the new position of EVP, new business channels – chief acquisition officer. She will report to CEO Steve Cooper, and her role will be to help identify promising new mergers and acquisition opportunities and attract non-traditional partners.

Ruxandra had spent four years at WMG, ultimately advancing to VP of digital strategy and business development until she joined in 2016 (as SVP of digital strategy and partnerships).

Steve Cooper said of Ruxandra’s return:

“As our industry continues its rapid evolution, we’re seizing the moment by expanding and redefining the concept of what a global music company can be. Working with talented people across our business, Oana will seek out a wide range of partners who will help us create original, forward-thinking opportunities for our company, our artists, and our songwriters. She’s from a new, diverse generation of entertainment executives, and brings a combination of digital experience, strategic thinking, and practical business expertise to her new role.”
