Power 99 FM, Philadelphia’s Hip Hop and R&B radio station kicks off the first of three of its annual Peace on the Street Jams, a series of antiviolence live events and activities designed to promote peace and provide communities with the necessary resources to prevent violence.  The event will include live music, spoken word and resource tables from community based organizations and is presented by Live Nation, driven by J&S Mitsubishi and powered by Community College of Philadelphia, Forman Mills, Commonwealth Charter Academy, Readby4th and Mike and Ike.

Power 99’s first Peace on the Street event will take place at Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing on Thursday June 13th from 6-8 p.m.  and will feature Calboy, LightskinKeisha and DJ Diamond Kuts and Friends.

“Philadelphia is experiencing a sharp spike in gun related deaths.  There’s never been a better time to promote the message of Peace on our Streets than now.  Power 99 helps give voice to those who are working hard to end the cycle of violence impacting our communities,” said Loraine Ballard Morrill, Director of News and Community Affairs for iHeartMedia Philadelphia.  “Power 99 is working closely with community based organizations to help make our neighborhoods safer.”
