The number one sports talk radio station in the country, New York’s legendary WFAN Sports Radio 101.9 FM and Sports Radio 66 AM, today announced a fresh new line-up and distinctive new voices to coincide with the launch of the New Year. Gregg Giannotti, currently co-host of “Gio & Jones” on CBS Sports Radio, has been named co-host of the newly renamed WFAN Morning Show, “Boomer & Gio,” alongside the incomparable Boomer Esiason. Later in the day, SportsRadio 94WIPs Chris Carlin, former New York Jets linebacker Bart Scottand CBS Sports Radio and Sports Illustrated’s Maggie Gray host a long-awaited new afternoon program, “The Afternoon Drive with Carlin, Bart and Maggie.” Further bolstering The Fan’s weekday line-up, longtime audience favorites Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts will now host a fourth hour.
The new shows and programming updates take effect Tuesday, January 2, 2018. “Boomer & Gio” airs weekdays from 6:00 to 10:00 AM, ET, and is simulcast on CBS Sports Network. Now with a refreshed three-anchor format and a diversity of voices, “The Afternoon Drive with Carlin, Bart and Maggie” will air weekdays from 2:00 to 6:30 PM. “Joe & Evan” remain at 10:00 AM and extend from three hours to four, closing at 2:00 PM. Steve Somers, an original WFAN host and heard before and after evening games, picks up at 6:30 PM and runs till 1:00 AM. Overnight hosts Tony Paige and Marc Malusis are on-air from 1:00 to 5:40 AM and then Al Dukes and Jerry Recco host “The Warmup Show” from 5:40 to 6:00 AM to help busy NY’ers start their day.
